Paul Reiber has served as Chief Justice on the Vermont Supreme Court since December 2004. Prior to that, he was an associate justice on the court from October 2003 until his appointment as Chief Justice.

Prior to joining the court, he was in private practice for more than 25 years at Kenlan Schweibert & Facey where his practice centered on professional liability, products liability and complex civil litigation.

He previously chaired the Chief Justice’s Task Force for Children and the Tri-Branch Task Force on Mental Health/Co-occurring Disorders and Criminal Justice. He also chaired the Vermont Commission on Judicial Operation which led to historic legislation that unified the state court system.
