William Araiza is the Stanley A. August Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School. His teaching and scholarly interests center on administrative, First Amendment, and constitutional law. He is widely published in these areas, having written casebooks on the First Amendment and Constitutional Law and academic monographs on equal protection and regulatory law. His most recent articles have appeared or will appear in the NYU Law Review, Northwestern Law Review, Cornell Law Review, and and UCLA Law Review.

Professor Araiza currently holds leadership positions in the Southeastern Association of Law Schools and in the ABA Administrative Law Section. He served on the LexisNexis Law School Publishing Advisory Board and was the 2013 Chair of the Administrative Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools.

After law school, Professor Araiza clerked for Judge William Norris of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and then for Justice David Souter of the U.S. Supreme Court. He practiced as an associate with two large law firms in Los Angeles, and has taught at, among other institutions, the law schools at UCLA, Loyola-Los Angeles, NYU, and Fordham.
