Herbert P. Wilkins is the Huber Distinguished Visiting Professor at Boston College Law School, where he teaches conflicts of law. He retired as Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in 1999, after serving on that court for nearly 30 years. Before joining the bench, he was for 18 years an associate and then a partner in the Boston law firm of Palmer & Dodge.
