Professor Myles V. Lynk

Prior to law school, Myles V. Lynk served as a VISTA Volunteer in the Pruitt-Igoe public housing project in Saint Louis, MO; a social worker at Childrens Hospital Medical Center in Boston, MA; and as a volunteer at Ngora (Church of Uganda) Hospital in Teso, Uganda. A native New Yorker, Myles was the Robert W. Foster Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at the University of South Carolina School of Law in Spring 2023, where he taught civil procedure and advanced legal ethics. From 2019 through 2022 Myles served in the District of Columbia Office of Dsciplinary Counsel as the Senior Assistant Disciplinary Counsel for appellate litigation. From January 2000 through August 2019 Myles was the Peter Kiewit Foundation Professor of Law and the Legal Profession at Arizona Statre University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, specializing in ciivl procedure, business organizations and legal ethics.  Among his public service activities, Myles served on the Civil Rules Advisory Committee of the U.S. Judicial Conference, was elected President of the District of Columbia Bar, and in the ABA he chaired the Section of Individal Rights and Responsibliites, the Standing Committee on Ethics and Professioal Responsibiility and the Standing Committee on Professional Regulation. Piror to academia, Myles was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Dewey Ballantine LLP, and had previousy served as an Assistant Director on the White House Domestic Policy Staff and as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare in the Carter Administration.  Myles clerked for Judge Damon J. Keith on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
