Ronald C. Lewis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Rockwell Fund, Inc., a private foundation based in Houston, Texas. Ron directs all aspects of Rockwell’s operations and is responsible for the management and growth of its investments and the implementation of its grant making strategies. Ron is primarily responsible for Board relations for Rockwell and its wholly owned subsidiary, Rockwell Lumber Company. Ron is a member of the Board of each company and a member of the Rockwell Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Rockwell, Ron was the City Attorney for the City of Houston, Texas, a $5 billion-dollar municipal corporation with more than 20,000 employees. Ron was responsible of all the municipal corporation’s legal affairs, including litigation, transactional, administrative, regulatory, environmental, prosecutorial and other legal matters. Ron managed the operations, budget, and personnel of the Office of the City Attorney and engaged and supervised outside counsel.
Prior to joining the City, Ron was a trial lawyer and handled litigation for businesses and individuals in the energy, real estate, construction, financial and manufacturing industries as a partner at Marshall & Lewis, LLP and, before that, as a partner at Baker Botts L.L.P.
Ron is currently on the board of Every Texan and has been a board member or chair of several other nonprofit boards.
A native of Texas, Ron graduated from Princeton University, where he majored in the multidisciplinary study of public policy at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and then obtained his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Ron is married to Marcia D. West.
