Wiley became a state court trial judge in Los Angeles in 2002 and was appointed to the California Court of Appeal in 2018. He clerked for the Honorable Frank M. Coffin of the First Circuit and the Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Wiley was a tenured professor at UCLA School of Law from 1983 to 2005 and a visiting professor at Harvard Law School in 1998. He also was Assistant and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office; Counsel at the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary; Examiner at the California Commission on Judicial Performance; and Of Counsel at Mayer, Brown & Platt.
