Wallace Jefferson is the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas.
In October 2013, he joined Alexander Dubose & Jefferson as a name partner. He had served on the Supreme Court of Texas since 2001 and as its chief since 2004.
Chief Justice Jefferson was elected to the ALI in December 2001 and was elected to the Council in May 2011. He currently serves as Chair of the Regional Advisory Group for the Fifth Region and as an Adviser on the Restatement Third, Consumer Contracts project. He served as Treasurer from 2014-2023.
Prior to joining the bench, he was a partner at Crofts, Callaway & Jefferson, a preeminent appellate practice in Texas. During his time on the bench, he served as President of the Conference of Chief Justices, an association of chief justices from the 50 states and U.S. territories.
