Kathleen Smalley serves as a neutral and consultant on dispute resolution.  Formerly a law clerk to Judge John Minor Wisdom and Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, she served as general counsel for 17 years to Trammell Crow Company, Crow Holdings, and Catellus Development Corporation (NYSE: CDX).  She acted as a trustee of the California Teachers Retirement System, as a director of Quality Care Properties, Inc. (NYSE: QCP) and as a director of nonprofits, including most notably iCivics, the provider of non-partisan civics educational materials.  As a partner in law firms, she handled both complex transactions and disputes before administrative agencies, trial courts, and appellate courts.  She has taught courses at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and UCLA Law Schools and currently teaches a class at UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
