Catherine Amirfar is a litigation partner at Debevoise & Plimpton’s New York office, where her practice focuses on international commercial and treaty arbitration, and international and complex commercial litigation.

Following law school, Ms. Amirfar clerked for Judge D.A. Batts of the Southern District of New York from 2000 until she joined Debevoise in 2002. She became a partner of the firm in 2008.

She is the author or co-author of several publications and is a frequent lecturer on international law. She has also been a guest lecturer at Yale Law School, NYU Law, Washington University in St. Louis Law School, and Seton Hall Law School.

Ms. Amirfar currently serves on the Executive Council and as Vice President of the American Branch of the International Law Association (ABILA) and the Steering Committee of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum. She was recently named the Chair of the Program Committee for the newly established New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC).
