Troy A. McKenzie is the Cecelia Goetz Professor of Law and Dean at New York University School of Law. His research and teaching interests include bankruptcy, civil procedure, complex litigation, and the federal courts.
He serves on the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the United States. From 2011 to 2015, he was Assistant Reporter to the Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules of the Judicial Conference. From 2015 to 2017, he was on leave from NYU to serve as a deputy assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining the NYU faculty in 2007, he was a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York.
He clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and for Judge Pierre N. Leval of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
