Eleanor Barrett is deputy director at The American Law Institute. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with an A.B. in Public and International Affairs and received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
She previously served as the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Prior to her role as Associate Dean, she developed, administered, and taught in Penn Law’s Legal Practice Skills program as the Denise A. Rotko Associate Dean for Legal Practice Skills.
Prior to her work at Penn Law, Barrett served as a law clerk to Marjorie O. Rendell of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, where she engaged in all aspects of federal- and state-court litigation, with a particular focus on writing trial- and appellate-level briefs. In between college and law school, she worked as a financial analyst.
