Ms. Beckman served most recently as Senior Advisor and Acting Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  She was Chief of the Health Care and Fair Competition Bureau in the Massachusetts’ Attorney General’s Office from 2015-2023 and Chief of the Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities Division in that office from 2011-2015. Beckman is a graduate of the Yale Law School and Dartmouth College. Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office in 2011, Beckman was the Chief Compliance Officer at Boston Children's Hospital where she specialized in conflict of interest issues, interactions with industry, and compliance with health care laws and regulations. From 1999-2002, Beckman served the Commonwealth as the Assistant Secretary for Health Policy, focusing on policy development and implementation as well as providing guidance with respect to potential hospital closures and nursing home receiverships. Beckman also served as Deputy Legal Counsel to Governors William Weld and Paul Cellucci. Prior to that service, she worked at Ropes & Gray as an associate specializing in health law.
