John Connolly is a partner in the Baltimore office of Zuckerman Spaeder, where he represents individuals and business entities in civil litigation and appellate matters. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in business torts, insurance coverage disputes, securities and consumer class actions, employment disputes, and a variety of common law contract and tort actions in federal and state courts.

Mr. Connolly focuses in particular on representing lawyers and law firms in legal malpractice claims, disciplinary proceedings, and ethical disputes. He clerked for Judge Lawrence F. Rodowsky on the Maryland Court of Appeals.

In 2011, the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services awarded the Daniel M. Gribbon Pro Bono Advocacy Award to Mr. Connolly and his partner, William J. Murphy, for their five-year advocacy on behalf of a Yemeni national who was released after being held for more than eight years in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
