Kennon Wooten is an attorney at Scott Douglass McConnico. She joined the firm in May 2011, after serving as the rules attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas. Kennon’s service as the rules attorney gives her a unique understanding of statewide and local rules of practice and procedure, as well as the disciplinary standards that govern lawyers who practice in Texas.

Kennon represents individuals and entities involved in complex commercial litigation, general civil litigation, and civil appeals. At the trial level, she represents both plaintiffs and defendants.  To the appeals, she brings experience and expertise that she gained as the rules attorney and as a law clerk to former Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson of the Supreme Court of Texas.

Kennon is dedicated to serving the community.  She served as the President of the Austin Young Lawyers Association and is actively involved with the Austin Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. She strives to have at least one pro bono matter on her docket at all times.  She also serves on the Texas Commission to Expand Civil Legal Services, which is tasked with gathering information on initiatives and proposals to expand the availability of civil legal services to low- and middle-income Texans, evaluating that information, and recommending ways to accomplish that expansion in Texas.
