Josh Meltzer serves as Managing Counsel for Education Affairs and Governance at the University of California, Office of the President. Josh advises the University on a range of issues including the First Amendment, civil rights, responses to federal investigations, and faculty misconduct, and leads a team that advises on public accountability, governance and research. Josh also serves as Chair of UC Legal's Pro Bono Committee.
Prior to joining the University of California, Josh practiced law at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he handled complex civil and appellate litigation and government investigations, co-chaired the pro bono immigration practice, and was a member of the firm's Management Committee. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Raymond J. Lohier, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Josh is a member of the Board of Directors of Legal Services for Children and serves on the Emerging Leaders Council for the Legal Services Corporation.
