Elizabeth Stong Receives Pro Bono Award

The Brooklyn Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) honored Elizabeth S. Stong of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York with the Terri and Nick Letica Award during its Volunteer Recognition Event.

The award is named after the husband and wife duo that began the VLP in 1990. Terri Letica presented the award to Judge Stong saying, “About 10 years ago, to assist pro se litigants in bankruptcy court, Judge Stong started the pro bono ‘Lunch Bunch’ which brought together pro bono and public interest professionals to discuss access to justice in bankruptcy court - Several times a year she holds the lunch, which often finds new and creative ways to improve the system.”
