Melanie Wilson Is President of AALS
At the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Annual Meeting, Melanie D. Wilson of Washington and Lee University School of Law was inducted as AALS President.
“I believe deeply in the mission of the Association—advancing excellence in legal education. I am honored to work collaboratively with the members of the Executive Committee and AALS staff in furtherance of this important work,” said Wilson in the announcement. “My theme for the year—Courage in Action—reflects my view that we will continue to accomplish ambitious goals in the legal academe, provided we pursue our aims tenaciously and bravely with an open mind.”
Wilson takes over as president from Mark C. Alexander of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, who transitioned to the AALS Executive Committee as Immediate Past President.
