Anton G. Hajjar serves on the Board of Governors for the United States Postal Service and was unamiously elected by his fellow governors to serve as vice chairman of the board. He was formerly general counsel of the American Postal Workers Union, ALF-CIO. He was of counsel at Murphy Anderson PLLC in Washington, DC, and was a principal of O'Donnell, Schwartz & Anderson, PC, representing unions and union workers. Mr. Hajjar received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and his law degree from Tulane University Law School. Following law school, he clerked for Judge John Minor Wisdom of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and worked for seven years at the National Labor Relations Board before entering private practice. The Senate confirmed him to be a Governor of the U.S. Postal Service on May 28. 2021.

Elected to the ALI in May 2002, Mr. Hajjar was elected to the Council in May 2010. He was an Adviser to the now completed Restatement Third, Employment Law and the joint project with the European Law Institute of Principles for a Data Economy. He  serves on the Members Consultative Groups of the Restatement of the Law, Consumer Contracts, Restatement of the Law, Corpoarate Governance and Restatement of the Law Fourth, Property. He was a member of the MCG of the now completed Restatement of the Law, Charitable Nonprofit Organizations.

He has been a frequent presenter on employment and labor law topics, and he has been an advisor and pro bono attorney in numerous employment discrimination cases, including those of Arab- and Muslin-Americans following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and continues with those activities to date.
